The rise in home prices has given renewed hope to the ailing housing market that has suffered a great deal, victims of this widespread economic recession. The effects of this economic turmoil are so much that the time it took for it to stabilize (the much expected rock-bottom process), that most gains in the area are still overtaken by the sheer amount of damage caused by months of downwards trends.
The housing market is yet to experience the end of the slump that has cost many jobs, and as other areas of the economic machine sheds more jobs, less people can afford homes so the future is still quite hazy for most in the housing industry, indeed.

The housing market is still in a slump but a very interesting event is happening in many metro areas, rental rates are going down.
This is due to the fact that so many people have lost jobs that once crowded city centers, brimming with office workers and professionals are now mostly void of their previous congested self. And jobs are still being lost, as more and more companies fight to save themselves from bankruptcies, trimming down workforces by the thousands. No jobs means the demand for rental properties are at their lowest ever.
The end of this recession isn’t in sight yet, and many are basing their hopes on jobs, more of it means an improving economy that is enticing companies to once again open their doors to the many jobless folks out there.

One of the easiest way to go green is to rid your condo of the old inefficient incandescent and halogen bulbs that were the norm of days gone by. Replacing them with more energy efficient CFL’s or even LED bulbs are the best way to save on electricity which is one of the most polluting vices of our technology driven world.
Want to go a step further? Why not convince the condo association to undertake either solar or wind turbine power generation projects to serve some of the building’s electrical needs. They can provide power to the building’s lighting or other more used facilities like the gym or something else. The re-greening of the city needs all of us to do our part, the smallest things making bigger changes possible.
The giant redwoods of the forests begin with the tiniest of seeds, a trickle of water from a faucet becomes a torrent when you consider the thousands of ill maintained faucets the world over. A little goes a long way and all change begins with the smallest and most obscure ideas, crazy even. Doing your part is your obligation and while you’re at it, why not convince them to adopt waterless urinals too for the public use toilets. Go green is the norm of today, as we strive to make the earth last a little bit longer for your children and your children’s grandchildren.

Though the overall temperature of a high condo may be cooler at night, they are usually prone to too much heat from the sun when it is at it’s warmest. The large glass doors and windows of today’s condos are good for light yet the amount of UV that gets in can damage/fade furnishings and carpets among other things. Get some reflective window films to give ordinary glass some reflective coating that will take out the UV but still lets in the light still saving on power for your lamps during daytime.
Save on electricity by simply opening the windows and door to let fresh air in if possible so you save on air-conditioning, but be sure you’re not getting any smog for if your location is too congested.
There are air filtration units that can handle condo spaces that will filter out dust and other contaminants from the air that unlike air fresheners that simply mask odors, really gets them out. Some even have add-on filters with activated carbon for odors or even a bio-filter mesh that kills germs and viruses floating around. Air conditioning units also come with filters that would function the same but they will tend to clog up more so better to have a separate filter instead. Keep your air-conditioning units maintained so they perform efficiently and cost less to operate. The vents and other holes on the casing should not be covered to allow proper ventilation which makes it run better and cool faster allowing better air circulation.

Most condo units have their own patio or terraces which allows owners a place to sit down and enjoy the view. This is more likely in places where the views of either local natural features or man-made areas are too good to pass out on or may have been used in the marketing of these housing units.
There are however downsides to such areas such as with respect to privacy for in crowded city center’s everybody longs for their own small spaces where they can do just about anything they wish to do. You can get some tough polycarbonate windows to do this for you that can either be clear or smoked to attain the desired level of privacy.
It doesn’t actually need to cover the whole space, for just the lower part of the opening that would be enough to protect you from peering eyes on adjacent units may suffice. may you chose plastic or glass, they also have the added benefit of making that very space safe for kids to play in. Privacy films on clear glass or plastic can be applied to make them look opaque protecting you and your family from voyeurs who may be spying in on you.

The bed is one of the biggest pieces of furniture in your home. And especially in small to moderate sized living spaces like condos, preserving your space is very important. This is why you may consider buying a sofa bed – a couch and a bed combined into one – to save on both space and money.
Sofa beds have different sizes so try to find one that will git in your space when it’s open. Choose one with a comfortable mattress that gives you comfort in both sitting and lying down positions. Check the braces, hinges, and frame to see of they’re sturdy and balanced. Test it out in the showroom and ask if you can have a few days to try it out at your place so if it doesn’t fit you space or your design, you can pick another sofa bed.

Plants are some of the best and easiest home warmers around, they give your home/condo an earthy feel with little cost. there are however some safety issues when it comes to plants for some of the best house plants are deadly or may contain enough toxins to make you child sick if it is ingested. Even some fruiting plants like the lowly tomato has toxins in the plant’s stem and leaves that is highly toxic so keep them away from pets and kids. Pets who love to play around your house plants such as aloe vera which is a very potent irritant if ingested or the sap gets onto tender tissue. Lily’s have poisonous roots or bulbs that contain toxins too even with their beautifully large and colorful flowers (the pollen is staining). Euphorbias, or those spiny plants that flowers prolifically has sap that contains neuro-toxins, keep all parts of the plants in sealed containers even dead or dried up parts.
Plants are beautiful additions to any home, just make sure you get ones that are safe around kids and pets. Avoid ones with colorful berries for they are like magnets for kids however innocent and beautiful they may be.

Prices are high and you live near a smaller city with better prices, consider the trade-off. Condo prices have increases as with most other properties for like burnt pancakes, nobody’s a buyin’. Many people who do decide to live in condos they hate do so without considering the fact that they’ll be living in something they hated the first time round for a minimum of one year. So getting the better deal in today’s cash strapped economy is better.
Having a condo or other property in a major city entails high costs due to the huge demand for them. Little towns on the other hand though distant have less demand for such services hence have lower prices. Besides, you might just find the place for you with all the stuff you’ve been looking for bundled up into one small city just within reach.

If you have a green thumb but not the space, you can still indulge the gardening ‘bug” in you and have your mini green garden. All you need is a patio or a balcony or even just a window sill! Ample light and water and organically fertilized soil will go a long way in giving you a fresh green salad with every meal. Light and space are the two essential factors you must think of when choosing which plants to grow. The amount of sunlight changes with the climate. There is less direct and less intense sunlight during the winter months. Summer usually has the most intense sunlight where the sun is at its highest point, its rays touching all the vegetation on earth.
